Privacy policy

This explains what we hold about you and what we do with it. StoreLenz reads shops that are open to the public; it holds very little about people, and nothing at all about the customers of the shops it looks at.

Draft written on . It does not take effect until the date we publish here.

1. The short version

  • We hold your name, your email address and what you do inside your account.
  • We do not sell anything about you, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • We never see a shop's orders, customers or payment records — not yours and not anyone else's.
  • The website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
  • You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to delete it.

2. Who is responsible for it

Pintoflow decides what happens to the information described here. For anything about privacy, email info@pintoflow.com or use the contact page.

We have not appointed a data protection officer or an EU/UK representative. If the way we handle information ever requires one, we will appoint one and update this page.

3. What we hold, and why

What we hold about you
WhatWhy we have it
Your name and email addressTo make your account, sign you in, and email you about your account
Your password, stored scrambled so nobody can read it backTo sign you in safely
The shops you look up and follow, and the settings you chooseThat is the service: we cannot tell you what changed without knowing what you are following
Which plan you are on and your billing historyTo charge the right amount and answer billing questions
What you write to us: a message through the contact page, or an emailTo answer you, and to keep a record of what was agreed
Ordinary technical records of requests to our servers, such as the time and the pageTo keep the service working and to spot abuse

We ask for nothing that we do not need. We do not ask for anything sensitive, such as health or political views, and please do not send us any.

5. Information about shops

StoreLenz records what shops publish openly: their pages, their product lists, their prices, the apps and theme their site shows it is using, and estimates of traffic and sales worked out from public signals. Anybody with a web browser can see the same things.

A small shop is sometimes run by one person, so a shop's public pages can contain that person's name or address. Where that happens, the information we hold is still only what the shop itself publishes. If you run a shop and want it left out, the terms of service explains how to ask, and we will handle it the same way as a request about your own information.

We never receive, buy or hold information about a shop's customers. We do not know who bought anything, and we do not want to.

6. Who else handles it

We use a small number of specialist technology providers to run the service — for hosting the website and app, storing the database, sending email, taking payment and keeping the service secure. They act only on our instructions and may not use anything they see for their own purposes.

We may also have to give information to the authorities if the law requires it, and we would pass information to a buyer if the business were ever sold. We do not sell or rent it to anybody.

7. How long we keep it

8. Where it is kept

The companies above run servers in several countries, so information about you may be handled outside the country you live in. Where that happens, we rely on standard contractual clauses or another lawful safeguard recognised for transfers out of the UK and EU.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable form. You can object to us holding it on the grounds of our legitimate interests, and you can withdraw consent you have given.

Write to info@pintoflow.com and we will answer within one month. We may ask you to confirm who you are first. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados), Portugal's data protection authority.

10. Keeping it safe

Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored scrambled. Only the few people who need access to the systems have it, and error reports have personal details stripped out before they are sent anywhere.

No system is perfectly safe. If something happens that puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

11. Children

StoreLenz is a tool for businesses and is not meant for children. We do not knowingly hold information about anyone under 16.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top says when it last changed.
